Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.......... and Spring-S.A.T Essay

In the film, "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter....... and Spring, what lesson do you think the monk is trying o teach his young student? Do you think the punishment that monk gave his student is fair?

Spring, summer, fall, winter and spring is a short movie we saw. There is a monk and a student who live in the middle of a lake. One day, a student attaches a rock with strings to animals including a fish, a frog, and a snake. The monk saw this horrible scene and he tries to teach him a lesson. He did the same thing that the student has done to the animals to him at night, and when he wakes up, he told the student to save the animals. He also says that if any of the animals are dead, the student would always have to have a rock in his heart. First he goes to the place where he tortured a fish. But unfortunately, the fish was dead. He buried a fish in a soil and he now tries to ind a frog. The frog was alive, so he unties the string and let the frog go. Lastly, he finds a snake but it was dead bleeding. The movie ends with a student crying beside a river.
In this essay, I am going to ask myself two questions; 'What is the lesson that the monk is trying to teach?', and 'Do you think the punishment is acceptable?'.
First, I will answer the first question which is about what lesson  the monk trying to teach student. I think there are two lessons that the monk is trying to teach. One is, always think before you act and the another is respect the life. In this movie, the student laughes while torturing the animals. With this, I think that the student wasn't thinking about what would happen after. I could understand the student because I sometimes don't think before I act and that causes a lot of problems for me.

For the second question, I think the punishment was very fair. The monk attaches a rock on stundent's back at night as the student did to the animals. This made the student to regret what he had done wrong and he had a chance to think again for his behaviour. So I think the punishment was very good.
In conclusion, I think the monk's lesson was to teach student about thinking befor acting and respecting living things. and I think the punishment was acceptable. It was great because I also got some lessons that the student had  learned.

Also, I will put the Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.......... and Spring part 2, 3, and 4.
